Airplane business honda jet

Born from the combined experience and technological excellence of GE and Honda, the new HF120 turbofan from GE Honda Aero Engines sets the stage for advanced business jet power. From concept to reality, the HF120 was engineered with a determined and well-defined goal: anticipate and fulfill the future needs of business jets. Welcome to the new dawn of flight.

From spinner to exhaust nozzle, the HF120 integrates innovative, proven technologies in an elegant, simplified approach. By reducing weight and introducing state-of-the-art 3D aerodynamic design, components are designed to interact with greater efficiency while optimizing power.

With features like high-flow, wide-chord fan blades and advanced materials, the HF120 is expected to deliver the highest thrust-toweight ratio in its class. And that will help improve payload, provide greater range and lower operating costs.

A breakthrough in aeronautics, the Over-The-Wing Engine Mount was engineered and proven by Honda after more than 20 years of extensive research and development. This innovative technology not only breaks the conventional mold set by the aerospace industry, but also provides category-leading advancements such as a more spacious cabin, noise reduction, and increased fuel efficiency.

Advancements in aerodynamics and NLF technology were applied to the design of the main wing airfoil and fuselage nose shape of the HondaJet to reduce aerodynamic drag. This cutting-edge engineering innovation contributes to high cruising speed and increased fuel efficiency.

Unlike many jets that use aluminum, the HondaJet employs a lighter yet strong carbon fiber composite fuselage. The fuselage is created from a cutting-edge combination of co-cured integral structure and honeycomb sandwich structures. This results in increased cabin space, better performance, and greater fuel efficiency.

For : It really is a unique aircraft with good performance and the best cabin in the market. The parent company gives the project credibility that failed light jet manufacturer start-ups lacked.

Against : Some love its unique look and technological innovations but others are less excited. All innovations carry risk and there are a lot of them on this aircraft.

Originally due for delivery in 2010, the HondaJet will be five years later than planned (assuming everything is fine from now on). As it is a clean sheet, innovative design with new engines from a GE-Honda joint venture, the OEM has some excuse for this but it has hit the project’s credibility. However, the financial strength of its parent means that the aircraft is almost certain to deliver.
